Whiskey Flat Days (Feb)


Get ready because Kernville is home to Whiskey Flat Days. Every year during Presidents Day weekend, we celebrate the beginning of our little town. The old west festival has gun fighting, music, parade, peddlers, rodeo, encampment, and MUCH more.  Click here for photo albums...

Lake Isabella Fishing Derby (Mar)


Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce presents what is being called the world's largest amateur trout derby. Cast your line and win! 2017 saw ~$26,000 paid out!

Kern River Festival (April)


Sierra South presents their annual Kern River Whitewater Festival. With many events throughout our valley including kayaking race at Brush Creek, kayak slalom race at Riverside Park, raft races, SUP races, triathlon, and many other happenings. Kayakers from all over the country come and participate in this great weekend. Whether you join in as an athlete or enjoy from the sidelines you will love this weekend of fun, sun, and competition.

Sirretta Street Sale (May)


Visit Kernville the first weekend of May and shop one of the largest community yard sales in the state. Sirretta street is always lined with beautiful large canopy trees but on this weekend it is lined with hot deals and fun finds. After you've shopped ‘til you drop, come in to town and grab lunch or walk through the Rotary Car Show at Riverside Park.

Trail of 100 Giants (Summer)


Trail of 100 Giants is an easy, accessible walk through Long Meadow Grove, one of the premier groves of giant sequoias. The grove showcases monarchs estimated to be up to 1,500 years old. About 1.3 miles of paved trail offers several loop options with interpretive signs. Located on the Western Divide Highway (107), facilities include a paved parking area, restrooms, picnic area and campground nearby. A $5.00 per vehicle fee is charged to help maintain and improve these facilities. The Highway is open May – October (weather permitting). Call for 760-376-2629 for updated road conditions.  

4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza (June/July)


Fireworks are launched over Lake Isabella at approximately 9pm. Check below for more information and exact date of event as it changes every year.

Whitewater Wednesday (July)


Ever been rafting? Want to try your hand at a new sport or just get your feet wet? Take advantage of a special rafting trip with lunch served after at Riverside Park. For tickets click below.

Rubber Ducky Races (Aug)


A fun family day in the park with kids games, face painting, BBQ lunch, Arts & Crafts Vendors, and more. Concessions start at 10am and the 1st race begins about 1pm. This event is put on by Kern Valley Exchange Club. Click here or call 760-379-7785 or 760-379-6440 for more information.

kern river rock and blues festival (sept)


Kernville is the perfect picturesque setting for the music community to come together and play in a great small community along the river.

KERNVILLE FALL FESTIVAL (OCT)


Join us the last weekend in October to celebrate all things fall! Trick or Trot 5k, lawn mower races, pie eating contest, costume contest, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, farmers market, chili cook off, and so much more.

5K TRICK OR TROT (OCT)


A fun and competitive 5k race. Dress in your favorite costume or best racing attire. This is a fast course, a fun environment, and takes place during the Kernville Fall Festival.

CHRISTMAS IN KERNVILLE (DEC)


The annual Christmas in Kernville toy drive starts on Small Business Saturday with the Christmas Shop Hop and the Parade of Giving. Santa is in Circle Park every Saturday from 5-7pm.
