CAMP KERNVILLE POLICIES

24 Sirretta Kernville, CA 93238 * 760-376-1000
www.campkernville.com

Welcome and Thank You for choosing Camp Kernville on the ‘Wild and Scenic Kern River’ in Kernville, California

The following policy has been chosen to offer a pleasant atmosphere and enjoyment of our Park.

GENERAL

CHECK-IN: Guests must check in upon arrival. If arrival is after hours, please check in the following morning. Arrival time is between 3pm and 10pm for Camp Sites (*See RV Rental Agreement for RV Rental Check-in times), unless other arrangements have been made with the Front Desk. *No arrivals after 10:00pm. If you arrive prior to 3pm and your site is available, you will be subject to applicable fees (depending on arrival time and availability). If site is not available for early check in, you will need to park off property until site becomes available. Reserved sites will be held until 8am the day following your arrival date. If you have not checked in before this time, you are considered a ‘no show.’ Your site will then be released back to Camp Kernville thereby forfeiting both your payment and site.

CHECK-OUT: Departure time is 11am for Camp Sites and RV Rentals. Depending on reservations for incoming guests, you may be able to pre-arrange a late check out with the Front Desk. If you have not made late check-out arrangements and do not vacate by the check-out time, you will be charged the equivalent of an additional day’s rate for site AND RV Rental (if applicable). If your failure to vacate your site interferes with the check-in of another guest at that site, you will be charged the additional day rate(s) in addition to a $100 penalty fee. Early check-out will result in the site(s) being released back to Camp Kernville thereby forfeiting both payment and site.

TRAILER SPOT: Only sites booked with ‘backward’ hookups (78 and 83) must be spotted (pulled in rather than backed in). You must prearrange this service with the Front Desk prior to your arrival date and prepay spot fees. Trailer spots must arrive between 1pm and 3:30pm (early check-in fee is waived for these sites only). If you arrive after 3:30pm and we have maintenance staff available to spot trailer, your fee will be 2x the regular rate. If you arrive after 3:30pm and maintenance staff is not available to spot your trailer, you may back in to your site for the night. Maintenance staff will spot your trailer the following day between 8am-11am.

PAYMENT: Full site payment is required at the time of booking. Any additional site fees, including but not limited to, extra guests, visitors, extra vehicles, etc. will be due at time of check-in.

GIFT CERTIFICATES: Valid for 1-year from purchase date, no exclusion of dates, nontransferable, no cash value, and must be redeemed by phone or in person. If reservation is cancelled, the funds are then treated as a raincheck.

MINIMUM STAY REQUIREMENTS: Camp Kernville has a four (4) night minimum during Peak Season. All holiday weekends (including but not limited to Whiskey Flat Days, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving) have a four (4) night minimum. There is a three (3) night minimum stay in waterfront sites during Shoulder Season. Base and Premium sites have a two (2) night minimum stay during the Shoulder Season. Walk ins are always welcome and do not require a minimum night stay.

CAMPSITES

GENERAL

-Sites that offer both 30 & 50 amp receptacles are for either/or usage. You may only use one receptacle (plug) at a time which is for the safety of the park electrical system, customers equipment, and general public.

-Upon arrival (for stays between May 15th and September 15th), we ask RVers to only run #1 A/C unit to slowly cool RV down. During your stay, we ask you to conserve electricity between 12-6pm daily. Please set your thermostat no more than 20 degrees cooler than current temperature and only run #1 A/C unit at a time.

-In order to keep the community safe, our local energy company (Southern California Edison) may need to turn off power during extreme weather or wildfire conditions. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). Power will remain out for as long as extreme and dangerous weather conditions pose a potential fire risk. In the event a PSPS is enacted, Camp Kernville will not be held financially responsible to refund customer either in part or in total for any loss of utility and/or inconvenience.

-Due to high water demand, scheduled maintenance, emergency repair, and/or use of local water resources for fire suppression there may be fluctuating water pressure and/or intermediate shut off.

-One fire ring, one utility table*, and one picnic table is allowed per site. Please do NOT place personal BBQ’s and/or fire pits directly on Park picnic tables but rather on the utility table provided. Park fire ring is to stay on the ground at all times. If you choose to move them on your site, we require you to return them to their original position prior to checkout. *Utility tables are not included in sites 1, 2, 9, 11, 12, 13, 21, 22.

-All campsites are specifically marked. Please do not encroach on your neighbor’s space and/or utility services, campground roads, and/or common areas.

We have restrooms with showers on site and highly recommend you use these facilities to decrease the amount of water used. You must limit the amount of water used during your stay as the unit is to be ‘self-contained’ and is unable to be dumped without charge.

-Grey water dump: We will dump grey water (shower and sink) for $50 per each dump. If you would like to have your tank dumped, you must schedule at the time of check in. All dumps require 24-hour notice. If you require a dump within 24 hours, the convenience charge will be $75 and dependent on availability of maintenance staff.

-Black water dump: If the blackwater tank in your RV Rental must be dumped, you agree to a $250 convenience charge and that you must vacate the unit for 6-hours (dumping black tank requires us to break down, move, dump, and reset trailer). If the unit must be dumped more than once, your card will reflect a $250 charge for each subsequent dump. *This service is only available during normal business hours.

DEPOSIT: At the time of booking, you are required to pay for 100% of the entire stay as well as a $100 cleaning and cancellation deposit.

PETS: We do offer pet friendly RVs (restrictions based on number and size) please inquire at time of booking. There is an applicable cleaning fee charged per pet at time of check-in. See *Pet Policy for complete rules and restrictions.
